Section 11 Instruction Card
Each section begins with a Direction Card with handy, instant tips and Orton-Gillingham suggestions.
4 Word Cards
20–30 Word Cards follow each direction/divider card. (Four sample cards shown here.)
4 Nonsense Cards
Many sections have Nonsense Word Cards. (More about nonsense word cards below.)
The 900 phonetic Word Cards divided into 38 phonics sections are the core of Phonics In A Box for the busy and efficient reading teacher. Many sections have yellow nonsense word cards to cement mastery. Do it your way or use some of the wonderful suggestions on The Direction Cards or in the Teacher’s Guide.
The Word Cards are used for: Phonogy, Decoding, Spelling, Syllables, Reading Fluency, Vocabulary, Games, and ABC training.
Nonsense Word Cards (yellow) are excellent diagnostic tools to measure students’ word attack skills, because they can not be read as memorized words.
Note: All the words in each section are listed in the Teacher’s Guide to use for spelling, games, etc.
